frost burn

This bipolar weather is starting to irritate me. It's warm and summery during the day, then glacial and horrible at night. This scenario makes getting dressed in the morning even more arduous than it already is: "should I die of heatstroke on my way to class? Or freeze on my way home?" At least I don't live in Colorado or Russia or something, I would surely perish when confronted with shoveling snow. I'm always surprised when I read blogs from up north and they're still wearing their 4 inch heels and dresses in the midst of snow flurries. How do they do it?!

Side note: Sky blue nail polish is the shit

Now, more fashion fashion fashion week:

KRIZIA
The first half of the show was like Amelia Earheart meets Balmain: loved it. The second half of the show was a bit anticlimactic, I wish they'd continued with the first thought. Regardless, there were a couple of the neon-fur-latex mini dresses that were appealing. Overall, there was a lot going on with Krizia, but they kept our attention and went out on a limb, which I applaud.

NATHAN JENDEN

I love this collection, like many others this year, for it's accessibility. I can see a lot of these thoughts being well adapted for girls to wear in their daily lives, not just stuffy red carpets. Especially that giant fur coat! And the tailored suits! Love the color blocking. The downside to this collection was a transparent (assumedly intentional?) homage to McQueen.
[tangent ensues:]
Simply put, in my opinion, [McQueen] was a genius and his work deserves the respect of being left alone. I'm going to projectile vomit if any part of his last show is copied one more time. Not, per se, because I'm being snobbish, but because "Plato's Atlantis" is at this point so recognizable and iconic that to reproduce it would be a complete farce, and devalue both parties.

P.S PARIS FASHION WEEK COUNTDOWN IS ON!
