dip me in diamonds, dip me in pearls

[Lushae necklace, XXI ring, Cosabella bustier top, vintage slip, Rodarte belt, Zara heels, Merona jacket]

The wonderful people over at the Australian jewelry company Lushae generously sent me this necklace, I love it! Their entire line is comprised of classic pieces, and it's all very affordable. I was torn between this ruby cluster necklace and these:
but I'm glad I went with this one. All my necklaces are on the trendy side, and this one goes just as perfectly with a casual jeans and tee outfit as it does with a little black dress and heels.

Things I'm loving right now:
>Sky Ferreira's new song "17"
>Fashion Stake (new website allowing people to make small donations to finance fledgling designers in exchange for access to special sales and fashion shows)
>nude/taupe heels
>lemon poppy seed scones
>Kirlian photography

Now off to do homework, ugh.

keep pace with the sun

While I tend to favor black clothing normally, this coral raincoat is a welcome distraction on gray and rainy days. It even has ruffled shoulders! The raincoat and girly accessories nicely balanced the menswear inspired tweed trouser and a light linen button down.

[XXI pants and accessories, Tahari heels, Target raincoat, vintage Dooney & Bourke purse, Ray Bans, Gap shirt]

In other news, the domain change was a success! It was actually far simpler than I thought it would be (with a little help from tech support, that is). Unfortunately, I still have a million things to do this weekend! I'll leave you with some of my recent bedroom-redecoration-inspiration:

There's something so serene about all white bedrooms.

cherry pie

[vintage tennis skirt/ Aldo heels/ XXI knee highs/ Express cardigan]
(Please excuse the wasteland that is our unpacked living room)
I wish I had a starched white cotton button down to wear with this. Like this one, or really any plain button down top from Gap or Target or what have you. I'm not sure how the fates conspired to ensure that I own absolutely no wardrobe basics, but I digress. I'm doing the red/white/blue thing again (aha, pattern) and I really wish I had bought a pack of sparklers to wave around while wearing this.

I am pretty sure I haven't posted this picture yet. Currently my desktop background; I wish my room/entire house looked like this.

I want pastel hair. And the aplomb to pull it off.

occult

[vintage flannel/ Nine West tights & booties/ XXI beanie and vest (DIY studs)/ old necklace w/ melange of vintage rings]

This blog would really be more aptly titled "in which I experiment with auto timer, and flagrantly produce terrible quality photos; with notes of blatant narcissism."

Moving on, this destroyed knit beanie finally came in the mail today from Forever 21! I was dying to buy it for the longest time but couldn't justify paying five dollars in shipping for a stupid hat. Free shipping last week = the realization of a dream. Er, hat.

Speaking of Forever 21, how cool is their new French Chic inspired lookbook? I was assuming everything would revolve around sequin berets and pleather jeggings, but all the looks are surprisingly tasteful. I am in dire need of the plum jacket in the last photo. And the oxfords.

Viktor Vautier is awesome. His concept of a photographic diary is something that I've been taken with for quite some time. A picture is worth a thousand words and all that jazz.

P.S.

Thierry Mugler's Alien is my new perfume obsession. It's the most amazing thing I've ever smelled. Too bad I'm broke, and thus forced to ration the tiny sample bottle for special occasions.
